NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANYONE!

It is very easy to imagine ourselves in someone else’s success and ignore the hardships they have endured. Hence we are very quick to judge or become jealous of others. What we seem to forget or easily overlook is the amount of time and work that was invested in ensuring that they became a success. Therefore we spend countless hours and time trying to imagine ourselves in other people’s shoes and not focusing on making ourselves successful in our own ways. I have always been a firm believer in that, each person’s story is written differently and on a different paper from any other person.

Never compare your Chapter One with someone else’s Chapter Twenty”. You do not know how much or what it took for them to get to where they are. I will not go into detail on how people acquire riches; money; good relations; fame or wealth among many things. We all know people do it in many different ways, some good and some bad. My point is a simple one, pace yourself well to achieve what you want. By all means be motivated by those that have made it ahead of you, but never be the victim of stress or depression to acquire. A number of people put so much pressure on themselves to get what someone else has or even better. My chapter 1 can never or will never be the same as your chapter 1. My book and your book are written differently and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you will become more comfortable with where you are headed.
There is a difference in being idle in your life with the expectation that things will fall into place at their own accord and you taking charge of your life and the decisions you make. What influences your life will motivate you as well. The chapter you complete each time will influence the next chapter in your life. Taking to account also that one chapter can take you years to write or complete, the amount it takes is of no importance. What matters is your ability to finish it and complete it to your satisfaction. We give up too easily when things seem to fall by the way-side. No matter how difficult things may get, complete your chapter and move on to a brighter one. You have greater influence to yourself  more than anyone else.

Ask God for guidance and never be ashamed when people around you seem to be making it before you. Your siblings; your friends or your colleagues may succeed before you, but keep in mind their chapters and scripts in life are penned differently to yours. Let them motivate you, but NEVER compare yourself with anyone. Avoid unnecessary pressure because it leads you to frustration and failure.
