It is rather unfortunate that the whole world had to go through the Corona pandemic; the various misfortunes, unexpected negative experiences and prolonged uncertainty. It is in such moments that each individual has to take time and just press the restart button, for others the recess one and for others the reset button. Whichever category you fall into, the power to get up and dust oneself and move on is entirely in one’s hands.
It is in these times that some
really got to know themselves and how tough they can really be during challenging
times or situations. It is also in these times that others felt rather
worthless and incapable, vulnerable and unprepared. A number of people lost
homes, jobs, relationships, savings and many other important and dear things to
them. It is in all this that restarting, resetting or taking a break is
necessary and needed. Everything is a process; to enjoy the beauty in a flower,
it takes water, dirt, sunlight, time and care. What makes you think your life isn’t
a process? Just respect the process.
It can be very easy to lose hope
and throw in the towel because the light seems not to shine at the end of the
tunnel. It is in this moment that you need to reclaim your self-worth and
affirmation that your ability to get yourself up is in your hands. The vision,
hope and zeal you once had should not disappear entirely because you have hit a
bump in your path. You have made it this far and no one can take that power you
have except the one who gave it to you. Re-invent yourself once more and have
the conviction and confidence that, what doesn’t kill you, can only make you
stronger as a person.
Do it for yourself first, then
reach out for strength from those close to you. Remember everyone felt the
pinch one way or the other, so you are not alone in the process of rediscovery
or restructuring. Be proud of yourself and the strength and ability you
possess. When all seems not to make sense and painful during these times,
either with your job, family, relationships, health, finances or school etc.;
just remember this:
“Sow a thought and
reap an act.
Sow an act and reap a
habit.
Sow a habit and reap
character.
Sow a character and
reap a destiny.”
